Dirty Weather

Bench

I don't usually take photos like these but this sunset was too good to miss.

We were in a caravan in the dunes on the beach at Heacham in Norfolk. Looking out of the window I realised we had about 5 minutes before the sun disappeared completely.

Dirty weather

So after a mad scramble we got out and snapped these with the Fujifilm X100V. Lucky really because the sun that November afternoon plummeted into the sea as if auditioning for a tropical lattitude. I think there were 3 minutes between these shots and 2 minutes later it was dark.

Being in a rush I hadn't realised the bench was shot at f2.8. I focussed on the bench and recomposed (I think). Anyway, it turned out OK in a slightly dreamy way.

The 2nd photo of the sunset is at a more conventional f8.
